Frequently asked questions

What is Awana?

Awana is a mid-week program committed to reaching children and youth with the Gospel and training them to know, love, and serve the Lord, Jesus Christ. Awana meets on Wednesdays from 6:45pm-8:00pm. Awana has five guiding principles: 1. Awana is centered on the gospel. 2. Scripture memory is key. 3. Awana is fun and exciting. 4. Children and youth are trained to serve. 5. Awana is built on strong leadership.

What should I expect?

Children and youth have fun playing age-appropriate games, memorizing Bible verses and participating in large-group Bible teaching. At BBC, we will have three parts: Game Time: Clubbers gather together to play lots of team building and exciting games on the Awana game square (Cubbies will have a separate game area). Leaders and teams will be cheering each other on. Large Group Time: Clubbers gather all together to hear announcements and the teaching for the night. Handbook Time: Clubbers break into small groups with their leaders to go through their handbooks, focusing on Bible memorization.

What class does my child belong in?

All classes will meet in the fellowship hall to begin, then will spilt up into the following groups: Cubbies (3s & 4s) Sparks (Kindergarten-2nd) Truth and Training (3rd-6th) All classes will be held from 6:45- 8:00pm.

Is there a cost?

The cost will be $30 per clubber. This includes the uniform and handbook. Please, please, PLEASE do not let the cost be what keeps you from attending. We will make a way for ALL students to attend, regardless of their ability to pay the Awana fee. Scholarships will be available. If you're facing any financial difficulties, please contact Ginger Baines.
